Alicia Gallienne. L’altra metà del sogno mi appartiene. L’infinito meno uno

10 June 2026 — 6 pm

Francesco Zambon in conversation with Andrea Molesini

With L’infinito meno uno, the Italian publication of L’autre moitié du songe m’appartient, Alicia Gallienne’s poetic work, reaches its conclusion. Gallienne remains one of the most intense and tragic voices of contemporary French poetry. Dying at only twenty years old, she left behind hundreds of poems written during the final years of her life, marked by illness and by the awareness of an approaching end.

This final volume gathers the ultimate texts of her poetic experience: visionary, fragmented, and hallucinatory poems shaped by themes of love, loss, and the impossible dialogue with absent loved ones. The title itself, drawn from the collection’s final poem, evokes a suspended dimension between the desire for infinity and subtraction, where writing constantly attempts to give voice to what seems irredeemably unspeakable.

During the event, Francesco Zambon — translator of the work and one of Italy’s leading scholars of medieval and contemporary literature — will converse with Andrea Molesini about the literary and human significance of Alicia Gallienne’s poetry, the relationship between writing and silence, and the extraordinary rediscovery of her verses, published in France thirty years after her death.
