Book presentation
Alicia Gallienne. L’altra metà del sogno mi appartiene. L’infinito meno uno
The presentation of L’infinito meno uno marks the completion of the Italian translation of Alicia Gallienne’s poetic work, L’autre moitié du songe m’appartient, written by the young French poet who died at the age of twenty. The volume gathers the final poems she composed in the months preceding her death and further explores the central themes of her writing: life, death, love, and dialogue with absent loved ones. In these poems, poetic language becomes increasingly visionary and hallucinatory, reflecting the anguish of a lucid awareness of approaching death. At the heart of the collection lies love, experienced as an extreme form of self-annihilation and a tension toward infinity. During the event, translator Francesco Zambon will engage in conversation with Andrea Molesini about the literary and human significance of Gallienne’s work, now recognized as one of the most powerful poetic testimonies of contemporary literature.
