Guided tour
Thanks to the collaboration between the Fondazione dell'Albero d'Oro and Ca' Foscari Tour, on the occasion of Art Night Venezia 2025, it will be possible to visit Palazzo Vendramin Grimani and Ca’ Cappello, two palaces standing side by side along the Grand Canal.
Ca’ Cappello, overlooking the Grand Canal, has recently reopened after restoration works that brought back its original beauty.
Built on a Gothic foundation, it reached its peak in the 16th century thanks to its owner, the Procurator of San Marco, Antonio Cappello. It regained attention at the end of the 19th century when it became the residence of Sir Henry Austen Layard, archaeologist and collector, discoverer of Nineveh and the Library of Ashurbanipal.
Palazzo Vendramin Grimani, open to the public for the first time in 2021, hosts the temporary exhibition Di storie e di arte. Three Centuries of Life at Palazzo Vendramin Grimani, a journey through three centuries of everyday life in this historic San Polo residence.
Four guided tours in italian are scheduled (15 people per tour), starting from the courtyard of Ca’ Cappello (San Polo 2035, Calle del Magazen, 30125 Venice) at 6:00 PM / 6:30 PM / 7:00 PM / 7:30 PM.
Total duration of the visit (including the tour of Palazzo Vendramin Grimani – San Polo, 2033 – 30125 Venice): 1 hour.
