Bruce Chatwin (1940-1989)

Bruce Chatwin was a 20th century British novelist whose poetics can be summed up in the idea that it is through the journey that problems are solved. In Patagonia (1977), a work written in the form of a travelogue, is considered the author's undisputed masterpiece. Chatwin recounts his journey between Patagonia and Argentina, enriching the narrative with digressions and reflections on nomadism, addressing various themes such as the landscape and fauna of Patagonia, the history of European exploration and settlement, the history of anarchists and strikers, and the fate of the native inhabitants.
