* the programme may be subject to change.

In the first edition, 2023, various authors such as Paolo Rumiz, Marilena Umuhza Delli, Jean-Paul Kauffmann and Philibert Humm, dialogued on themes such as the relationship between travel and literary creation. This year, 2024, on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the International Art Exhibition - La Biennale di Venezia entitled Strangers Everywhere, the literary meetings in November will focus on the theme of encountering the other.

The aim of this series of conversations between traveller-writers is to highlight not only the journey or journeys that are the subject of a narrative, but also to reveal the trigger that drives authors to follow particular itineraries, be they - separately or simultaneously - real, imaginary, historical.

Relive the meetings of the first edition of Invitation to Travel

Drawing on their books, stories and experiences, the authors are invited to dialogue freely in a colloquial style around a theme and in front of an audience in one of the rooms of Palazzo Vendramin Grimani in Venice. A facilitator of the meetings will question the invited authors not only about the adventures they have experienced and the subject of the narration, but also about the analysis of the places they have crossed, from a geographical, ethnological, economic and historical point of view.
