"My great-grandfather established the first printing house in Chioggia [...] I have tried to retrace this path and bring this tradition back to life."

Pierpaolo's gaze was captured by Greek-French photographer Nikos Aliagas during an art residence in Venice in 2022.
Nikos' lens traveled through the extraordinary everyday life of Venice, letting photography tell the stories of those who live and make these places come alive.

Grandson of printers from Chioggia with a long history, more than a decade ago Pierpaolo has decided to return to his roots by following the same route, always in the lagoon, between Chioggia and Venice. In his bookshop Damocle Edizioni, he offers Venetians and tourists alike to discover books of art and to rediscover international literary classics.

The photography exhibition Nikos Aliagas. Regards Vénitiens is open to the public in the ground floor spaces of Palazzo Vendramin Grimani, home of Fondazione dell'Albero d'Oro, until November 26, 2023.
